Phi Theta Kappa

One of the benefits of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) membership is being recognized for academic excellence at the annual college commencement ceremonies. Members in good standing may call attention to the academic success by wearing PTK graduation regalia with their caps and gowns. Active PTK members are given a PTK tassel, cord and stole to wear at commencement, and PTK officers receive an officer’s medallion. Please check with your advisor for your regalia. Additional regalia is available through the PTK online store at the member’s expense. ptk.org. Please be sure to place your order early enough for on time delivery. The college administration and the PTK chapter will allow only chapter officers to wear the Double Honor Blue & Gold Cords for recognition and service to the chapter. All other PTK chapter members will be allowed to wear only the gold stole and tassel.

Photography

We will have a professional photographer at the graduation ceremony taking pictures as each graduate receives his/her degree and/or diploma. The CCC Foundation Office will mail those to you once your graduation status has been verified by the registrar’s office. Please note, the verification process could take a couple of months, thus you should expect to receive the picture at a later time.

Degrees and Diplomas

Don’t be alarmed when you open your degree folder at graduation and find it empty. Final grades are due several days after the ceremony, therefore your final academic credit check will take place after that. If you are completing your requirements in May, you can expect your degree and/or diploma in the mail by the end of June. If you are a summer graduate, you can look for your degree and/or diploma at the beginning of September. (You should have already received your degree/diploma if you earned it in December.)

*Please note*: If you have an outstanding balance with the student accounts office, you will not have access to your transcript and your degree will not be mailed to you until all remaining balances are paid in full. Contact the Student Accounts Office to take care of any outstanding balances.

Students who have five or less credits to earn and are planning to complete during the summer session may participate in the graduation ceremony.
